Hosted Meals at O'Reilly's Orchard

Many primary production businesses are faced with the fact that they need to find some way that they can value add. Not being convinced that sticking things in bottles with sugar or salt is the way to go, we had to take a look at what we could do and what we would enjoy.....as well we asked ourselves " what products do we look for ... and what do we find lacking."   Well of course it comes down to food... seriously I would be the side of a house if it wasn't for the work of growing it.

Coming back to the point of this page, I find it hard to eat out locally.  I can look past not having organic food "on tap".... but I can't eat meat or eggs that are intensively grown or I don't know of it's origins.

Vegetarian meals are essentially an afterthought in most establishments but are sometimes catered for... it is so hard though to enjoy a pre packed industrially made lasagne or vegie burgers when you are quite adept at making them yourself...and enjoy doing so. Dave and I love cooking, it is never a chore and each meal we have, is cooked from scratch...Ok that may not be quite true;  we buy in quality, organic dried pasta and sometimes use tinned organic legumes - great to have on hand when "someone" forgot to put the beans on to soak.

We have a comfortable country kitchen and an enjoyable outdoors alternative....the deficiency is we need to upgrade from our "under verandah, farmyard aspect, toilet facility"...but this is two years away.

Despite this deficiency (if you can overlook it) we felt that we could invite YOU to share our table.  Perhaps like us, you find that your most memorable meals have been in the convivial atmosphere of a private home.

Nothing fancy...just well grown,
answerable food, cooked simply.
